Violations of our Code of Conduct will be taken seriously and may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
If you witness or experience behaviour that contradicts our Code of Conduct, report it to the Venue Manager.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

PAYROLL & PAY DETAILS

At M.V. Jasmine, we prioritize transparency and consistency in our payroll practices.
Employee’s must hold an ABN during their probation & contract work with M.V. Jasmine.

Employees are paid weekly, with wages deposited directly into your nominated bank account.
Our payroll system automatically deducts applicable taxes and superannuation contributions in accordance with Australian law
if you are offered a casual, part-time, or full-time contract beyond probation.

If you need to update your bank account or superannuation details, please email host payroll date to ensure that the changes are processed in time.

In addition to your base salary, certain roles may be eligible for performance-based bonuses or tip structures.
These incentives are designed to reward exceptional performance and align with M.V. Jasmine’s goals.
If you are eligible, the details of these incentives will be outlined in your employment contract.

WORK HOURS & BREAKS

Our standard work hours differ per day, per week, per cruise.
We ask that employees arrive punctually AT LEAST ONE HOUR BEFORE BOARDING and be ready to start work at their designated time.

If you require a different schedule due to personal commitments, please discuss this with your manager.

Please note, if you cannot make a shift that you elect for, it is your responsibility to fill this shift.

In the case of any unexpected delays in arriving at work, such as traffic issues, we ask that you inform your manager as soon as possible.
Communication is key in helping us manage team schedules effectively.

ATTENDANCE & ABSENCE
As a small, collaborative team, every role at is essential to our daily operations.
We understand, however, that personal or health-related issues may occasionally prevent you from attending work.

In the case of illness or unforeseen personal emergencies, please notify your manager with as much advance notice as possible.
Absences should also be recorded in our attendance tracking system, which helps us manage payroll and maintain accurate attendance records.

M.V. Jasmine has an abandonment policy whereby employees who do not report to work for three days without communication may be considered as having resigned.
If you find yourself unable to communicate due to unforeseen circumstances, please reach out as soon as possible to maintain clarity.

REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES

M.V Jasmine will reimburse employees for pre-approved, work-related expenses. To claim a reimbursement, you must obtain prior approval from your manager, and submit a claim form with original receipts.

Examples of reimbursable expenses include business travel, accommodation, meals, and other costs incurred for M.V. Jasmine business activities.
Please submit expense claims promptly, ideally within one month of incurring the expense. Late claims may be subject to additional scrutiny, so timely submission helps us streamline our financial management processes. Reimbursements will be processed through payroll and included in your next payment cycle.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD

The first one month of your employment at M.V. Jasmine probationary period, during which both you and the company can evaluate your fit within the team and your role.
During this time, you will receive feedback and have performance discussions to assess your progress.
At the end of the probation period, your manager will formally review your performance and, if satisfactory, confirm your ongoing employment.

If you have questions or need support during your probation, we encourage you to reach out to your manager or HR.
We are here to support your transition and success at M.V. Jasmine.

EXTERNAL ACTIVITY OUTSIDE OF EMPLOYMENT
M.V. Jasmine acknowledges that some employees may have other interests, roles, or business ventures outside of their primary employment with us.
While we support diverse interests, it is a condition of your employment that any external activity is disclosed to your manager to avoid potential conflicts of interest.

Activities that may present a conflict of interest, such as working for a competitor or a jewellery-related business, require formal approval via the External Activity and Outside Employment Form.
Unapproved conflicts of interest may be grounds for disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

DIGITAL & SOCIAL MEDIA POLICIES

INTERNET, EMAIL & SOCIAL MEDIA USE
M.V Jasmine provides access to the internet and email for business purposes.
While limited personal use is permitted, we expect all employees to use these resources responsibly and in line with professional conduct.

Accessing inappropriate sites or excessive personal use that affects productivity is prohibited.
Email is provided for company business, and all communications through M.V. Jasmine’s email systems should reflect our brand and values.
We reserve the right to access and review your business email account if necessary to ensure compliance with our policies.
Avoid using email for gossip, sensitive discussions, or any content that could be perceived as offensive or discriminatory.

SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

In today’s digital landscape, social media can have a powerful impact on our brand.
At M.V. Jasmine, we understand that many employees engage with social media, both personally and professionally.
However, we ask that employees exercise caution when posting content that may be associated with M.V. Jasmine, our customers, or other team members.

WORKPLACE HEALTH & SAFETY

At M.V. Jasmine, the health and safety of our employees, Customers, and visitors is our top priority.
We strive to create a work environment where everyone feels safe, supported, and protected.
Our commitment to safety extends to all aspects of our business, from our workshop and showroom to our office.

SMOKE-FREE & SUBSTANCE-FREE WORKPLACE

M.V. Jasmine promotes a healthy, smoke-free environment. Smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes, is prohibited in all areas of our premises, including outdoor spaces and company vehicles.
Employees who wish to smoke during the day should do so during unpaid breaks and away from M.V. Jasmine property.

If you choose to smoke during breaks, please do so offsite and in compliance with local smoking regulations.
Employees are encouraged to take steps to minimize any odour upon return, as we strive to maintain a pleasant environment for all team members and visitors.

ALCOHOL & DRUGS

M.V. Jasmine is dedicated to providing a safe, healthy, and productive work environment. As such, the use, possession, or distribution of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited on all company premises.
Employees are also expected to avoid the consumption of alcohol during work hours, except when explicitly permitted by the company during authorized events.

If you are taking prescription medications that could affect your ability to perform your role safely, please notify your manager.
Any information shared will be treated confidentially and is intended to ensure that appropriate safety measures are in place.

Violation of the alcohol and drug policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

USE OF PERSONAL VEHICLES

If you are required to use your personal vehicle for work purposes, please ensure that you hold a valid driver’s license, current vehicle registration, and comprehensive insurance.
M.V. Jasmine assumes no liability for accidents, fines, or vehicle damage incurred while using a personal vehicle for work.
Employees must comply with all road laws, including mobile phone restrictions while driving.
Any reimbursement for mileage will be in line with award rates.


PREGNANCY, PARENTAL LEAVE, FAMILY SUPPORT

ADVISING OF PREGNANCY

If you are pregnant, we encourage you to inform your manager as early as possible to ensure your safety and comfort at work.
Early communication allows us to discuss any adjustments needed to accommodate you throughout your pregnancy, such as changes to your work schedule, or alterations to your duties if required.
M.V. Jasmine respects your privacy and understands that you may choose to keep your pregnancy confidential during the initial stages.
Please know that any information you choose to share will be treated confidentially and with respect.


TAKING LEAVE

M.V. Jasmine offers a variety of leave options to accommodate the diverse needs of our team.
In addition to statutory leave entitlements, we have established policies for annual leave, personal (sick) leave, compassionate leave, long service leave, and other types of leave.

All leave requests must be submitted in advance (except in cases of emergency) to ensure we have adequate coverage.
TWO WEEKS MINIMUM NOTICE IS REQUIRED.
Please discuss planned leave with your manager and submit your application via our leave management system.

Leave entitlements may vary based on employment type (full-time, part-time, casual), so please consult your manager if you have specific questions about your eligibility.


PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT & PERSONAL GROWTH

USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Personal information may be shared withinM.V. Jasmine only as necessary to fulfill job-related duties or comply with legal obligations.
If personal information is to be disclosed for purposes other than those originally intended, we will seek consent from the affected employees.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

In the event of an emergency, such as fire, medical incidents, or security threats, M.V. Jasmine has established procedures to ensure the safety of all employees and visitors.
Emergency procedures are posted in prominent locations throughout our premises, and employees are required to familiarize themselves with the emergency exits and evacuation routes.

KEY EMERGENCY PROTOCALS INCLUDE

Evacuation Procedures:
In the event of an evacuation, please follow the instructions of your designated fire warden or manager.
Evacuate the building in a calm and orderly manner, using the nearest exit. Gather at the designated assembly point and await further instructions.

First Aid:
First aid kits are located in easily accessible areas of our premises. If you or someone else requires first aid, alert a trained first aid responder.
First aiders are identified in common areas for easy reference.

β€’ Fire Safety:
Fire extinguishers are placed throughout the premises, and employees will receive basic fire safety training as part of the induction process.
Only use a fire extinguisher if you are trained to do so and if it is safe to attempt to contain the fire. Otherwise, evacuate immediately and call for help.
Please take all drills and training seriously. Familiarity with emergency protocols can save lives and reduce the potential for injury.

Business Purposes:
Use technology resources primarily for work-related purposes. Limited personal use is acceptable, provided it does not interfere with your duties or impact network performance.

Internet Use:
Browsing should be limited to business-related sites. Accessing inappropriate or illegal content is strictly prohibited.

DATA PROTECTION

In today’s digital world, cybersecurity is a critical priority. To protect company and Customer information, all employees must follow these cybersecurity practices:

Use Strong Passwords:
Create complex passwords and change them periodically. Avoid sharing passwords or writing them down in accessible places.

Beware of Phishing and Scams:
Be vigilant of emails or messages requesting sensitive information or urging immediate action. Report any suspicious communication to your manager.

Device Security:
Keep company devices secure. Report any lost or stolen devices immediately.

  • Safety Briefing

    Welcome to The M.V. Jasmine Pre-Departure Safety Briefing, an essential companion to our Terms and Conditions. Before your journey, we kindly request that you thoroughly review this document and share its contents with fellow passengers who will join you onboard. By selecting the checkbox when submitting a reservation with M.V. Jasmine, you confirm your acknowledgment, agreement, and understanding of the safety instructions below. Your safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a secure and enjoyable voyage.


    Safety Instructions:

    • Our crew members are highly trained professionals in maritime safety procedures.

    • In the event of an emergency, please pay close attention to the crew's instructions.

    • Life jackets are stored in the wheelhouse and under the decks.

    • The first aid kit is located in the wheelhouse.

    • There are two life rings on each side of the wheelhouse.

    • Running on the boat is not permitted.

    • The muster station is located on the aft deck.

    • Restrooms are situated on the starboard side.

    • Swimming is only allowed once the vessel is anchored with the engine switched off.

    • When consuming alcohol, please remember to eat food and drink plenty of water.

    • It's advisable to use sunscreen when the sun is out.

    • If you see or smell smoke, please inform the crew immediately.

    • Keep a lookout for your mates.

    • The MOB (Man Overboard) ladder will be available on the roof.

    • Flotation rafts can be found on the roof.

    • If you encounter any issues, don't hesitate to approach our crew for assistance.

    1. First Offence: You’ll receive a clear warning from our crew

    2. Second Offence: The charter ends immediately for you β€” you’ll be escorted off at the next safe point

    3. You will be permanently banned from all future events on this vessel.

    This is a shared experience, and everyone has the right to feel safe, respected, and welcome.

Seat Guests / Welcome Guests and Take first drink order and Canape

BOARDING

  • Make sure all your guests have a drink and canapes on the way

Check in with guests 

  • Serve canapes and make sure your guests are comfortable and well informed. β€œHow is everything - Is there anything I can assist you with?”

Take Drink order 

  • Offer more drinks 2 sips before the guest has finished - Nobody wants an empty glass.

  • Help navigate the options and have full knowledge of our wine list and pairings with our menu

Deliver drinks and take food order

  • Drinks to arrive within 5min maximum

  •  Explain potential wait time for high volume / cocktails etc

  • Take food orders and assist them with choices and show that you know the menu.

Check in with guests 

  • make sure your guests are comfortable and have everything they need (Servettes, cutlery, water, drinks)

Serve food 

  • Alert manager once guests have reached max wait time - Food to arrive within 10-15 minutes 

  • Quality check within 3 bites

    - Use positive language

    - Is your prawn roll delicious? 

    - Are you enjoying your oysters?

Clear table 

  • Clear table -

  • Wait for all guests to be finished 

  • Present every table with dessert menus and drink menu
